The Meridian City Council voted at their meeting Tuesday night to go forward with the sale of the old police station to John Purdy, owner of Threefoot Brewing Company. Purdy hopes to transform the old building into a microbrewery. Purdy is a Meridian native, who wants to see his business thrive in his hometown.
"Absolutely, I want to be a part of seeing Meridian grow. I'd like to see it grow even more than what it's done in the last 5 or 6 years," he says. "I'd like for it to be a great place that my kids want to come back to."
Four council members voted in favor of the sale. Only Ward 5 Councilman Weston Lindemann abstained from voting.
