Our weekend will pick up where our work week ended.... hot and dry. The second half of the weekend, however, is when changes will arrive.
This evening will be clear with temperatures cooling from 90s early to 80s between 7 PM and 8 PM. We will cool into the 70s around 10 PM.
Saturday will start with comfortable upper 60s and lower 70s. The morning will warm quickly into the 80s before 9 AM and into the 90s soon after 10 AM. The afternoon will top out near 99-100 degrees with heat indices closing in on 105 degrees. The lower humidity compared to this past Monday and Tuesday will make the heat easier to take.
Sunday will be a day of change. Showers and thunderstorms already present over the northern Gulf of Mexico will shift northward. Areas south of Highway 80 will be most favored. Areas north of Highway 80 may stay mostly dry aside from a stray shower or two on Sunday.
Showers and thunderstorms will increase in coverage, growing more widespread on Monday and Tuesday. We may see an even bigger uptick in the showers and storms on Wednesday before the showers and storms start growing fewer toward the end of next week. Temperatures will ease back, too. Our highs will mainly be in the upper 80s and lower 90s. Lows will step up into the low-to-mid 70s. Humidity will increase, too.
