The owners of "Your Meeting Place" in Clarke County are speaking out.
After a weekend shooting at their venue, Bilal and Khalilah Hasan say they are redefining who they allow to rent their building. Police were called to the venue after shots were fired during a rap concert. Two people were hospitalized following the shooting. The Hasans say they are devastated by what took place, but are banning certain acts to keep it from happening again.
"We've had other rappers come here. This was the first event we had the violence, the gangster rap. The rap that really does not do anything, but undermine the minds of the people,” said Bilal Hasan.
The Hasans say they will continue to rent out "Your Meeting Place" for positive performances. The Clarke County Sheriff's Department is handling the investigation.
