Mississippi Cong. Steven Palazzo has announced a new chief of staff, Hunter Lipscomb.

Lipscomb previously served as Palazzo’s deputy chief of staff and district director for six years and is returning to the office from the Mississippi Development Authority, where he has worked as the director of government affairs.

"Hunter has been a part of my team since the very beginning and has served in a variety of roles both in Mississippi and in Washington. His experience will be an asset to our state, and I am happy to welcome him back as my top adviser," said Palazzo in a statement.

Lipscomb replaces Casey Street, Palazzo's chief of staff for the past five years. He is departing Capitol Hill to pursue an opportunity in the private sector.

"Casey has been a tremendous leader of Team Palazzo. I truly appreciate his dedication to the people of South Mississippi and wish him the best in his future endeavors," said Palazzo.

As part of the move, Palazzo’s legislative director, Patrick Large, has been promoted to deputy chief of staff and will serve as interim chief while Lipscomb finishes a temporary military obligation with the Mississippi Air National Guard.
