It's a tradition that started 32 years ago by students and staff to emphasize the importance of giving to those less fortunate in our community. And Friday afternoon during a program, the school made a huge donation of toys and bikes to the Wesley House.
"This is our outlet to show the community that we care and we love them," Bethany Garrett, a librarian. "It's a community project. It's parents and students all working together to give back to the community."
"It makes all the students here feel really good that they donated all the presents to all the people that don't really get presents," said Lucy Simmons, a student.
"We began packing Thursday night and could only go so far though the alphabet because we needed more toys, and Poplar Springs Drive Elementary came through for us again this year." said David Schultz, executive director of the Wesley House.
The students also performed Christmas songs.
