LAUDERDALE COUNTY, Miss. (WTOK) - Elections are right around the corner and there are a couple of changes to precincts in Lauderdale County.
Voters that normally cast their ballots at the Frank Cochran Center in Highland Park will now be going across the street to Magnolia Hall to vote. Voters in the Clarkdale area will also now be voting at the Clarkdale Fire Department. Circuit Clerk Donna Jill Johnson says voters will appreciate these changes and that it’s not that much of a change from current voting locations.
“We used to be in the garden center. Now it’s called Magnolia hall and it’s owned by Meridian Community College. When we started having issues with the air conditioning and heating in Frank Cochran the poll workers and voters were complaining. Meridian Community College was nice enough to let us use Magnolia Hall,”
There will be a public hearing about the changes on Monday at the Lauderdale County board of Supervisors meeting on the first floor of the annex building.
