MERIDIAN, Miss. (WTOK) - A business that has over 1,000 employees nationwide has announced it will relocate its corporate offices to downtown Meridian.

Mike Castle, president and CEO of Progressive Pipeline, announced Wednesday at the EMBDC offices that his company is making a $6 million investment in downtown Meridian. The company bought the former Melton Hardware building on Front Street across from the Mississippi Arts & Entertainment Experience.

Progressive Pipeline began ten years ago in Alabama and has around 300 employees in Mississippi, including 60 in Lauderdale County.

Castle says he hopes to have the new location open sometime in 2021, plus hire around 25 new employees.
