Rain, rain, go away

We've had a pleasant start to the weekend. The majority of us started off below freezing this morning, but we have warmed up nicely into the mid 60s. The official low temperature out of Meridian Regional Airport this morning was 30, and the official high temperature was 65. Hopefully you were able to get out and enjoy the weather today because rain will once again be a factor in our weather overnight tonight.

TONIGHT:
For any plans this evening, you are good to go weather wise - although you will begin to notice cloud cover increasing. As we head into the overnight hours, periods of rain will begin to affect areas mainly south of Interstate 20 as a disturbance passes to our south. The cloud cover and showers will prevent lows from dropping all too much, with all of us only falling into the low to mid 40s overnight.

TOMORROW:
Expect periods of showers as you go about your morning plans, so an umbrella may be needed just incase. Most of the rain will be out of here by the afternoon, but with a thick cloud deck and plenty of moisture moving in, a stray shower can't be ruled out through out the day.

LOOKING AHEAD:
Several wet days are expected yet again this upcoming week. A warm front will advance northward across the area Monday, leading to widespread showers through the day. Tuesday, a cold front will move through the area providing a chance for a few thunderstorms. Rain will stick with us through Thursday, with temperatures dropping quite a bit as we head into the end of next week.
