MERIDIAN, Miss. (WTOK) - Some Knight Parker Road residents are upset about a company's plan to build a clinic in their neighborhood.
Paul Masters lives on Knight Parker Road near Highway 11. He says rezoning in the area is unnecessary.
"I don't understand why they would want to put a commercial zone in a residential neighborhood," Masters said.
The company already owns commercial property on Highway 11, not far from the proposed Knight Parker location. Masters says the company should build the clinic on the main highway and not on his street.
"He doesn't have to go through this," Masters said. "He doesn't have to go into the neighborhood."
Residents went before The Meridian City Council about the issue Tuesday. The council could vote on whether or not to rezone the property next month.
