Rodeo qualifying held in Meridian

An American Rodeo Qualifier event took place Saturday evening in Meridian.

It took place at the Lauderdale Ag Center. They had everything from girl’s breakaway roping, boy’s tie-down roping, steer wrestling to team roping.

This is qualifying and compete in Arlington, Texas. There were thousands of dollars in prizes given out.

“What there doing here there coming to Lauderdale County Ag center to compete in multiple events to try to claim their place in our prestigious arena of champions," rodeo announcer Mack Ginn says.

“It’s everything for our youth it’s for the youth in our sport to have a shot for this kind of money to do what they love and to compete with the professionals to make this kind of money its and awesome deal," volunteer Justin Kinard says.
