MERIDIAN, Miss. (WTOK)- The longest-lasting run in Meridian is celebrating 19 years all for a good cause Saturday.
The 19th Annual "Run for Hope" took place at Bonita Lakes Saturday morning. The event had 250 people participating in several racing activities including a 10k trail run, a 5k road race, a two-mile walk, and a one-mile fun run. The race is meant to raise money for the Children at Hope Village.
“It’s not about how face I’m going to run or that they are participating. It all about the cause. It’s about the mission we have for the children at hope village to give them something better. With our community, it doesn’t get any better. They are here to support us, and they believe what our mission and vision are at hope village,” hope village guild Rhonda Poole.
Organizers say they have met their goal of $40,000.
