The thunderstorms we saw this afternoon helped to cool us off this evening - temperatures have already dropped to the 70s across the area. We will bottom out around 74 overnight with a few areas of patchy fog possible.
The big story over the next several days is going to be the heat. As high pressure builds over the area, we will see drier but also warmer conditions starting tomorrow. A heat advisory will go into effect tomorrow morning and continue through 9pm Sunday night. Heat index values could top out around 109 in some spots.
Monday and Tuesday, I am expecting highs around 98 - 99 with some areas reaching the triple digits. Highs in the upper 90s, factored with the humidity will create dangerous heat across the area. Be sure to check on your neighbors and bring the pets inside! Limiting time outdoors and staying hydrated is important.
