MERIDIAN, Miss. (WTOK) - As for this afternoon we will continue to see mostly sunny skies throughout east Mississippi. Clouds return tonight and lows will be slightly more mild than we saw last night, but still pretty chilly near 40. For your Sunday morning drive expect dry, but mostly cloudy conditions to start. Highs will sit at middle 60s and lows in the middle 50s. A southeasterly flow ahead of our next rain maker will help temperatures rise into the 70s on Monday. Mostly cloudy skies are to be expected in the wake of this cold front passage. Isolated showers will be seen throughout the afternoon, but everyone will be seeing rain during the night hours. Rain fall totals are expected to range from a 0.25 to 0.5 inches.
Showers will finish up Tuesday morning with all rainfall ending before the afternoon. What may be inconvenient to some are the gusty winds that we will be feeling on Tuesday. Winds will be out of the northwest with gusts up to 20 mph. Highs will be back in the middle 60s Tuesday afternoon with lows dropping down into the middle 30s. Good News on the way for your Wednesday if you are a fan of the sun. Sunny skies will dominate the day, but temperatures remain chilly in the lower 60s during the afternoon.
The weather will be showering us with love on Valentine’s Day. Yes, literal showers. It is going to rain. As our next system approaches the area cloudy skies will be seen all throughout Thursday and into Friday. Highs on Thursday afternoon will reach middle 60s and lows in the lower 50s. Friday morning we can see a few lighter showers as the front moves out, but then after that we can expect a mix of sun and clouds in the afternoon. Saturday will remain mostly sunny with highs in the mid-to upper 50s.
