MERIDIAN, Miss. (WTOK) - Happy Saturday! It has been yet another warm day across the twin states as afternoon highs soared into the middle to upper 70s region wide with a mix of sun and clouds. This evening we will keep with partly cloudy skies with light winds out of the south southeast and lows dropping into the middle to upper 50s. Patchy to dense fog will also be an issue again overnight and into the early morning hours on our Sunday.
Once the fog clears on our Sunday we are looking at our warm trend sticking around across the twin states. Afternoon highs will warm into the middle 70s region wide along with maybe a stray shower and southeast winds around 5 mph. We will see one more day with warm and muggy conditions and maybe a stray to isolated shower for our MLK Day on Monday as highs remain in the lower 70s. Rain showers become more isolated in nature as we move into our Tuesday with highs in the 70s and lows remaining mild in the 50s and 60s region wide.
Our next weather maker start to move in the region mid to late week next week. This means we are looking at periods of showers on our Wednesday and Thursday and then scattered to isolated showers on our Friday and the start to the weekend. Afternoon highs will lower into the upper 60s to lower 70s across the region with the extra clouds and rain for the end of the week and start to the weekend but our overnight lows will stay in the 50s and 60s region wide. We will continue to adjust our rain chances and the forecast as we move closer to next weekend.
