Saturday, March 16 Forecast Discussion

MERIDIAN, Miss. (WTOK) - Mostly cloudy skies are sticking around throughout the afternoon as the sun is struggling to find breaks in the clouds. Highs are still forecasted to reach near 60 for today. Clouds are more prevalent to the south of us including the southern portions of our viewing area. Moistures is being retained along the coast near the lagging cold front. Tonight some clouds will remain with lows dropping into the upper 30s.

There will be no green on our local radar for Saint Patrick’s Day tomorrow. Expect mostly sunny skies in the afternoon with highs in the middle 60s. High pressure will begin to develop in the southeast leaving us with clear conditions overnight with lows near 40. To start the work week weather will be very spring-like with sunny skies during the day with highs in the mid to lower 60s. A dry reinforcing cold front will make its way through the area on Monday night. Nights will be clear allowing us to get pretty chilly overnight into the upper 30s.

Temperatures begin warming on Wednesday, the first day of spring, into the upper 60s. Thursday and Friday will be sunny as well with temperatures gradually rising from upper 60s to lower 70s. By this time we will be tracking our next weather maker to our west that will be impacting us at the beginning of next week. As of now next Saturday is looking warm and sunny with temperatures in the mid to upper 70s.
