MERIDIAN, Miss. (WTOK) - We will continue to be dry through tonight with lows in the upper 60s. Clouds will increase through out the overnight hours with skies being mostly cloudy for your Sunday morning. Showers and a few thunderstorms will be possible in the afternoon and evening hours tomorrow. One or two storms could become severe, with gusty winds and small hail. We are not expecting widespread severe weather. Storms will taper off after sunset as we lose the daytime heating. Lows will be in the upper 60s to low 70s.
Monday, a few showers and storms will be possible again in the late morning and afternoon hours as a warm front advances to our north. These will be scattered and more brief in nature. High pressure will begin to take control of our weather going into Tuesday, keeping us dry and very warm through the end of the week. Highs will climb back into the lower 90s Tuesday. Wednesday - Saturday temperatures will be in the lower to mid 90s, with a few of us potentially reaching the mid to upper 90s, depending on the location of the area of high pressure. Regardless, we could see heat indices reaching close to 100 by the end of the week.
