LAUDERDALE COUNTY, Miss. (WTOK) - The Clarkdale campuses are seeing much better attendance this week, after hundreds of students were out last week due to flu-like illnesses.
One hundred forty-three students were absent Monday in K-12. That's a significant improvement from the 383 students who missed school Friday.
The school district performed a deep clean on the Clarkdale campus Saturday and Sunday to get rid of germs.
And Kemper County Schools will be closed again Tuesday as the school district deals with a flu outbreak.
Superintendent Jackie Pollock says there were more than 100 students and staff who were out sick Friday, prompting the decision to close school Monday and Tuesday.
