A Mississippi Congressman toured a local manufacturing plant as he promotes job creation in Mississippi.

Senator Roger Wicker visited Structural Steel Services in Meridian as he tours small businesses in the state during a work period in the U.S. Senate. He talked about how Washington D.C. has an impact on jobs at small business. Wicker says he believes that regulations handed down in Washington by departments like the Environmental Protection Agency have made it hard on job creation here.

"The President's war on coal has been a setback here at this particular manufacturing plant, and I question really whether the citizens and the taxpayers of our country have gotten any benefit from that," said Senator Wicker.

Structural Steel President and CEO Tommy Dulaney says it means a lot to have the Senator tour the facility.

Dulaney echoes Wicker, saying recent government regulations have affected his business.
