Shoppers hit the stores for after Christmas shopping
Christmas has come and gone, and many people are hitting the stores to use their new gift cards. Some are still doing their holiday shopping.
"For my wife, this is different. I'm in the military. So to come home and actually be here to shop after Christmas, since I wasn't able to really shop over there, it's pretty cool,” says Nicholas Hall.
The day after Christmas is one of the busiest shopping days for businesses across the country. Most people here in the Queen City are taking advantage of all the post-Christmas sales going on.
"Everybody is out trying to get that last minute sale before the New Year. Also, trying to get things their kids didn't get for Christmas. They kind of want to get out. Since they didn't get it for Christmas, they want to get it now,” says Adi Keco.
"I know for me, personally, the sales. There are a lot of sales on the day after Christmas. A lot of people like me who like to get up early and try to beat most people who like to go out. It's also a good time to see stuff you couldn't get before that you can get now because the prices are knocked down and all,” says Hall.
Shoppers tell Newscenter 11 it’s a crazy, packed day, but that is what makes it fun.
"Just all the traffic you have to work through. The people in line you have to wait and wait on. Especially if you go to Walmart, taking stuff back. It's okay. You just have to watch the traffic and people going. It's enjoyable. The people are nice,” says Pat Brooks.
The day after Christmas is also a popular day to exchange or return unwanted gifts.
