Sonny Montgomery award given to local MCC retiree

Kathy Brookshire, former Vice President for the MCC Development and former MCC Foundation Executive Director was awarded the prestigious G.V. Sonny Montgomery Outstanding Leadership Award for 2018.

Brookshire met Montgomery almost 50 years ago and shared a special friendship with him over the years. Her son had the honor of being a page while Montgomery served in the U.S. House of Representatives. Brookshire says it's a huge honor to have been chosen for this award.

"It is hard for me to put into words what this award means to me. To have my name associated with Sonny Montgomery, it the greatest honor that has ever happened to me,” says Brookshire

The G.V. Sonny Montgomery Outstanding Leadership Award is given out every year.
