TAYLORSVILLE, Miss. (WTOK) - Crews from Southern Pine left Friday to offer immediate help to Gulf Coast Electric Cooperative in Wewahitchka, Fla.
The utility had been on standby since before Hurricane Michael hit Florida, waiting word on where its help would be needed.
Gulf Coast Electric received significant system damage from the hurricane.
Crews will work to set poles that were broken and repair downed lines in an effort to restore power to those affected by the damage caused by Michael.
