JACKSON, Miss. (AP) -- Mississippi state agencies are beginning the disaster response to Saturday's tornadoes.
The American Red Cross disaster assistance line is open for people affected by severe weather that moved through Mississippi overnight. Those who need assistance with disaster-caused needs can call 1-800-REDCROSS.
Gov. Phil Bryant and Mississippi Emergency Management Agency Executive Director Gregory Michel will host a news conference at 3 p.m. to update response efforts to Saturday’s tornado outbreak. It will be at the State Emergency Operations Center in Pearl.
