Strong storms will be possible tonight

11/30/19 - A cold front is pushing towards east Mississippi and west Alabama tonight, and there will be a risk for a few strong to severe storms ahead of the front. Areas along and north of I-20 are in a level 2 (Slight) risk and areas south of the interstate, into west Alabama are in a level 1 (Marginal) risk for severe weather tonight.

TIMING:
8 pm - midnight.

WHAT TO EXPECT:
A weakening line of storms will move across the area late this evening, into the overnight hours from west to east and have the potential to produce strong, damaging winds. Even if a storm is not severe warned, gusty winds of 40 - 50 mph will still be possible as the line moves through - which is enough to take down trees. We also cannot completely rule out the risk of a brief, weak tornado but the threat is low.

Stormy weather tonight will give way to a beautiful Sunday with highs in the low 60s. As we look at the week ahead, we will have a nice stretch of sunny and cool weather through at least mid-week.
