Sarah Pasha, a junior at Lamar School, has started a community project through her participation in the Leadership Lauderdale program. Her goal is to collect 1,000 books to fill a junior high school library in Ghana as she partners with the African Library Project.

There's currently a drop box for books at Meridian Honda.

"I really believe in helping students get education overseas. I know a lot of young kids that haven't had the opportunities that I have had to learn and be educated. I want to be able to bring that to people all around the world," said Pasha.

If your school, church or business would be interested in having a collection box for books, you can contact Sarah at Lamar School or donate to her GoFundMe account: gofundme.com/leaps-in-literacy.
