MERIDIAN, Miss. (WTOK) - Special needs students at Northeast Lauderdale High School received gifts from Marion Police Chief Randall Davis this week.
And Thursday morning students thanked the police chief for his generosity.
Chief Davis purchased all of the gifts, which included headphones, with his own money and says it's important to give back to the community, especially to children.
"Like I always say, we can always get out and write citations and do certain things. But this is another part that I think we need to stay more focused in, is being community police," said Davis.
Davis has been a part of many Christmas toy drives for children in Marion over the years.
