SUMTER CO., Miss. (WTOK) - The residents in Sumter County have voted in favor of a 1 percent sales tax that would bring a new hospital to the area. The hospital will be fully funded from the proceeds of the tax. That tax increase should generate roughly $1 million per year for 25 years.
