MERIDIAN, Miss. (WTOK) - Moisture continues to rise across the state today ahead of a low pressure system moving in from the west. This evening temperatures will be in the 50s under cloudy skies with overnight lows only dropping into the middle 50s. A stray shower may be seen as we get closer to the midnight hour tonight. This will be in the mix of a warm front passing through on Monday. Skies will remain cloudy for Monday morning with isolated showers to start then wide spread rainfall later in the evening and night. Rain totals for this event are expected to be near a half of an inch for most locations. The cold front will pass through Tuesday morning adding more rainfall totals throughout east Mississippi. Some locations can see an additional 0.25 to 0.5 inches of rain. Thankfully this will be over just after the lunch time hour, and skies will be quick to clear.
Tuesday night’s low will drop into the middle 30s after the passing of the front. Clear skies will last all throughout Tuesday night and into your Wednesday. Wednesday’s highs will stay in the lower 60s under sunny skies. Clouds sneak back into the forecast overnight on Wednesday ahead of our next system passing through on Thursday.

Showers continue throughout the morning on Friday then become mostly cloudy in the afternoon. Highs for both Thursday and Friday will be in the mid-to upper 60s. Skies begin to clear overnight on Friday as temperatures drop in to the mid to lower 30s. This weekend is looking nice if you don’t mind it being a little chilly out.
