MERIDIAN, Miss. (WTOK) - Dense cloud cover stuck around for the majority of this afternoon limiting our highs to the middle 60s. Low clouds will stick around for tonight and patchy fog will be seen for localized locations. Above average lows are to be expected for tonight with calm winds out of the south. We will bottom out in the middle 50s. Tomorrow will once again be a cloudy day, but showers will become more scattered rather than stray like they were today. Any areas of fog will mix out by 10 a.m. and highs will reach lower 70s in the afternoon. The chance for showers remain limited overnight on Monday with lows near 60.
Tuesday temperatures are going to be rising into the middle 70s with the chance for thunderstorms developing in the afternoon hours. Isolated showers and storms will occur throughout the day with mostly cloudy skies. Mid-week will be just as unsettled as a series of small disturbances continue to pass through the twin states. Stray showers can’t be ruled out overnight on Tuesday and into Wednesday. Wednesday will be relatively dry but cloud cover remains. Only stray showers will be seen throughout east Mississippi. Highs rise into the upper 70s on Wednesday afternoon and lows stay in the lower 60s. Wednesday night and Thursday morning stay mostly cloudy ahead of our next cold front passing through Thursday night. Temperatures are expected to drop quite a bit considering the upper 70s we are expecting on Thursday. Highs on Friday will be in the low 60s with showers throughout the day. Overnight lows will be in the upper 30s and a few lighter showers will stick around along with mostly cloudy skies.
By the weekend we will finally be back to sunny skies and temperatures will be around normal for this time of year. Expect mostly sunny conditions for Saturday and highs in the mid to upper 50s. Saturday night some clouds return and lows will be in the lower 40s. Sunday brings back clouds and highs will rise into the low 60s.
