MERIDIAN, Miss. (WTOK) - Dense cloud cover held steady throughout all of the day today and will remain throughout the overnight hours. Lows for tonight will be limited to the mid to upper 30s due to the lack of clearing. Monday morning will be a gloomy one as well with skies not beginning to clear until later in the day. Highs for Monday will be slightly warmer than today with temperatures in the low 50s. Clearing skies at night will allows lows to drop below freezing due to ideal cooling conditions.
Tuesday morning will have a cold start with temperatures near freezing. Thankfully in the afternoon we will have mostly sunny skies to help us warm up into the middle 50s. High pressure will be the dominating factor from here until the end of your Wednesday. Highs for Wednesday will rise into the upper 50s as will be experiencing a warming trend just ahead of the front moving through late week. Lows on Wednesday night will begin to become milder back into the lower 40s.
The next chance for rain will be on Thursday while the weather pattern becomes a bit more active throughout the end of the week. Both Friday and Saturday will be rainy and cloudy. A large storm system moving in from the west will bring long periods of rain and perhaps a few thunderstorms. A cold front will pass through Saturday night leaving us with frigid temperatures on Sunday.
