Three killed in Neshoba County fire

NESHOBA CO., Miss. (WTOK) - State authorities continue to investigate a fire that killed three people in Neshoba County over the weekend.

Neshoba County Sheriff Tommy Waddell says the owner of Clay Young Chicken Farms called 911 early Saturday. The chicken farm is located near the Newton County line on County Road 298 near highways 19 and 491. Firefighters discovered the three bodies inside the house. the victims were James "Len" Humphrey, his fiancee and a friend.

"The state fire marshal has been called in to help with the investigation. The structure was completely destroyed,” says Waddell.

Investigators believe two of the victims were employees of a nearby chicken farm. The third was a friend who was visiting them. There's no word yet on how the fire started.

The names of the victims were not immediately released by authorities. Mr. Humphrey's family shared his information. Call the Neshoba County Sheriff's office if you have any information about the deadly fire.
