Thursday, May 9 Afternoon Forecast Discussion

By  |

Storms have moved through the area this afternoon and produced plenty of rain and some gusty winds. We will see rain showers taper off as we head through the evening hours. Thanks to all of the rain we have seen today, dense fog is likely through the overnight hours into Friday morning. We will see scattered showers through the day of Friday with more rain and storms through the weekend.

Saturday and Sunday look to be the wettest days of the next three days. The best chance for storms will be on Saturday as an upper level low crosses over the stalled front that will sit to our northwest through the weekend. Rain and storms will be with us through the day on Saturday with more rain on Sunday, and perhaps a storm or two. Rainfall amounts of one to three inches are possible through the period. Any severe storms will be sparse, but one or two cannot be ruled out, especially on Saturday.

We finally dry out as the cold front moves through the area Sunday evening. High pressure will start to build back in to start next week to dry out with temperatures warming back into the middle 80s as we head into next week.
