Happy Toython! Another dense fog advisory is in effect for the following counties in our area: Lauderdale, Clarke (MS), Jasper, Wayne, Jones, Sumter, Choctaw, Greene, Marengo, and Hale until 9 a.m. If there is fog in your area, please use caution while on the roads and leave extra time before heading to work or to school. Any fog will be out of here by the mid-morning, as drier air slowly ushers in behind the cold front that passed through yesterday. Temperatures will be slightly cooler than yesterday but will still rise to the around 68 under partly cloudy skies… Perfect weather to donate toys for Toython! A few clouds stick around through the overnight timeframe and the low temperature will be around 49 degrees. As a strong ridge builds into our area for the weekend, high temperatures will soar into the low-70s for both Saturday and Sunday, and become even warmer for Monday with highs in the mid-70s. We’ll also stay under partly cloudy skies throughout this timeframe as well.
A stronger cold front will push through our area sometime between Tuesday and Wednesday, and though models are still having a hard time resolving the exact timing of the system, we’ll certainly more than likely see rain for at least part of both Tuesday and Wednesday. Exactly when we’ll see the heaviest rain will yet to be determined. One thing for sure is that this front will provide us with some drought relief and much colder temperatures, with highs in the 50s for both Wednesday and Thursday with morning lows by the end of next week back to around the freezing mark.
