After a cooler day for us on Monday as highs remained in the 80s. Now with no rain this morning, temperatures will warm nicely as we head through the day. With more sunshine compared to Monday, highs should easily reach the lower to middle 90s. A pop-up storm is possible in the afternoon and evening, but most of us should remain dry.
Wednesday will have to feature us watching to our north as a thunderstorm complex may develop and dive southeast across parts of Mississippi and Alabama. At this point, it appears the best chance of seeing this complex will be to our east, but it is something we will have to keep an eye on through the afternoon.
Outside of a complex of storms, we will see only pop-up storm chances each afternoon as high pressure strengthens heading into the weekend and into next week. As high pressure intensifies, clouds will thin out during each afternoon and temperatures will warm into the middle 90s. The good news is humidity does not look to spike oppressively into the weekend, but heat index values could still top 100 through the weekend and into the start of July.
