THE NEXT 24 HOURS
For the next 24 hours, the chill begins to relax its grip. This morning's lows were on either side within a degree or two of 30 degrees. This evening will cool gradually through the 40s through midnight beneath a clear sky. We will cool into the 30s after midnight. Our Wednesday begins with chilly mid-to-upper 30s. The morning will warm through the 40s and into the mid-to-upper 50s by noon. Our highs will be in the low-to-mid 60s Wednesday afternoon with a sunny sky. The evening will cool from 50s to 40s beneath a mostly clear sky.
CHRISTMAS ON THE RIVER IN DEMOPOLIS
Christmas On The River begins with the Love Tree lightning and the announcement of the 2019 Special Child in Demopolis Wednesday evening at 5:30 pm on the front lawn of Whitfield Regional Hospital. Expect clear conditions with temperatures in the lower 50s. The lighting of the Public Square in Demopolis looks good Thursday evening, too. The parade on Friday evening and the nautical parade on Saturday evening will be dry after some Friday morning rain exits the area.
OUR NEXT WEATHER MAKER IMPACTS WTOK TOYTHON
Our next weather maker will arrive late Thursday night, bringing rain to us after midnight that will fall through about the first half of Friday. WTOK Toython is Friday at both Walmart stores in Meridian. Rain will douse the morning, but the rain will begin breaking up by noon and fade to an end by 2-3 PM.
HIGH SCHOOL FOOTBALL STATE CHAMPIONSHIPS
We have a couple of local high school football teams playing in the State Championships on Friday. The games will be played at Southern Miss in Hattiesburg. The day will start with rain. Rain will begin breaking up between 9 AM and noon. Any leftover rain will end by 3 PM.
Saturday and Sunday will be mostly dry, though a few showers are possible late Sunday. Another storm system will bring an increase in rain Monday night and Tuesday.
