Happy Monday! Rain and storms are likely across the area on our Monday. Places north of I-20/Highway-80 will likely see rain throughout the entire day, but places to the south of I-20 will likely see rain off and on throughout the day. This will lead to a sharp rainfall gradient across the area. Expect to see anywhere between 1 and 3 inches of rain, with rainfall amounts increasing from south to north. Some spots along and north of the Highway-16 corridor could see up to 4 inches of rainfall. Flash flooding will be a possibility today, so be sure to use extra caution on the roadways today. During the afternoon and early evening hours, strong to severe storms will be possible. Damaging wind is the primary threat, but a tornado can't entirely be ruled out. Temperatures today will climb into the low-70s.
Tonight we will see scattered showers with temperatures dropping into the mid-60s Tuesday morning. A cold front will be moving through and stalling out across our area on Tuesday. This will lead to a sharp temperature difference across our area, depending on where exactly the front ends up. Right now it looks like it will stall out along or close to I-20/59, so points to the south will likely see temperatures in the upper-60s, while points to the north will be about 10 degrees cooler. Scattered showers will be possible on Tuesday, especially south of the front. The stationary front will begin moving again Tuesday night, causing a rise in temperatures heading into Wednesday morning.
Temperatures will climb into the mid-70s on Wednesday with scattered showers possible throughout the day. As we head into Wednesday evening and into early Thursday morning, storms will increase in coverage, and a few severe storms will be possible. All modes of severe weather will be possible so make sure to stay weather aware Wednesday night. A few showers will be possible Thursday morning, otherwise highs will be in the mid-50s. Temperatures will drop to around the freezing mark on Friday. Highs on will be in the low-50s under sunny skies. Saturday will feature partly cloudy skies with lows in the low-30s and highs in the low-50s. Isolated shower chances will return on Sunday as temperatures warm back into the low-60s after starting the day in the mid-40s.
