JACKSON, Miss. - Weather conditions are delaying projects approved by the Mississippi Department of Transportation. Among those is the start of the I-55 widening project.
Rain has caused the postponement of the work.
MDOT says even though there are setbacks, it still plans to have all three lanes open by this summer.
The Highway 49 project is also being pushed back. More than 50,000 vehicles use the highway daily.
More rain is expected throughout this week, which could delay more projects and for longer periods of time.
