7/10/19 - It is another muggy start to your Wednesday morning. Temperatures are in the mid 70s with dew points in the lower 70s. It will be another hot day today with highs near 98 and heat index values near 107. It would not be surprising if some of us reached 100 again this afternoon. A heat advisory is in effect from 10am this morning until 7pm this evening. Use caution with any outdoor activities today! Drink plenty of water and take frequent breaks indoors.
Rain chances will steadily increase through the rest of the week and into the weekend as we watch what is expected to become tropical storm Barry.
As of this morning, guidance models have made a shift back to the west hinting at a landfall near southwest Louisiana. From there, it takes the system northward and keeps the heaviest rain bands away from east Mississippi and west Alabama. But, these models will continue to change with each model run as we are still a few days out and still do not have a well-defined center of circulation. Things are likely to continue to change in terms of the track and intensity until we have an organized system.
For right now, we will still have increased rain chances and cloud cover across the area this weekend.
