Tuesday, May 14 Morning Forecast Discussion

By  |

Happy Tuesday! Temperatures have fallen mainly into the low-50s this morning, with some spots north of I-20 even making it down into the upper-40s. We’ll see mostly sunny skies on our Tuesday with highs in the upper-70s. Mostly clear skies will continue overnight but temperatures will only drop into the mid-to-upper-50s by Wednesday morning.

High pressure will be dominating our weather pattern for the rest of the work week and thus we look to stay dry through Friday. I can’t entirely rule out a shower or storm on Wednesday as a disturbance moves close by, but I think high pressure will ultimately win and keep us dry. Highs make it into the upper-80s to near 90 by Friday and Saturday.

A cold front is set to arrive by the end of the weekend/start of next week. Due to model uncertainty, I am just leaving us with isolated showers/storms Sunday and Monday until models get a better grip on the set-up. Also can’t rule out a pop-up shower or storm firing up on Saturday out ahead of the frontal passage, but chances are too low to warrant mentioning in the 7-day forecast at this time.
