Another hot and humid day for us as head index values have been near 95 and temperatures have reached at least 91. We will see warming temperatures into the weekend as high pressure builds into the area and increases the heat and humidity over our area.
The ridge building into our area will resemble more of a middle to late July ridge of high pressure when we normally see our warmest temperatures of the year. As we get closer, models continue to show the building heat and humidity with no real meteorological reason from the models to modify our going forecast. Therefore, I will hold with highs pushing 100 for Memorial Day.
An upper level low will pass near our area on Wednesday, but it appears that accompanying cold front will remain to our north to keep rain chances away. This should give enough of a blow to our ridge to drop highs back into the middle 90s as we approach the end of May, still about 10 degrees above our normal highs in the middle 80s.
