Your CBD Store opens in Meridian

Meridian has a new shop open to help treat your aches and pains.

Your CBD Store sells products made from cannabidiol. They have drops, candies and lotions that help with health issues like pain, arthritis and anxiety.

"I wouldn't tell anybody to use it. Try it. We give out free samples of the cream," store manager Vickey Schumm says. "They can use it and then come to the decision themselves whether they like it or not."

Although CBD is made from hemp, these products don't have THC. The store's manager says that means you won't get the high that comes with marijuana, and all the products are legal.

"if you're coming in to get high, don't come here because it's not like smoking marijuana," Schumm says. "You won't fail a drug test."

Still, police say they'll continue to be on high alert for illegal drugs and won't hesitate to test any item they suspect might be marijuana.

"If it comes back as marijuana, then at that time, we'll also get assistance from the East Mississippi Drug Task Force," Sgt. Dareall Thompson says. "They'll send an agent out and assist us with this."

The store sells the oil in a variety of products - body lotion, capsules, drops and even edibles.

"I love it. It's good for you," Schumm says. "If you don't like pills, this is your alternative."

Your CBD Store opened its doors last week in the Crossroads Shopping Center.
