Alabama Men’s Basketball Falls in Overtime to Norfolk State, 80-79

TUSCALOOSA, Ala. -- The Alabama men's basketball team saw its season come to an end with an 80-79 overtime loss to Norfolk State in the opening round of the 2019 National Invitation Tournament Wednesday night in Coleman Coliseum. The Tide finishes the season with a 18-16 overall record.

Graduate student Riley Norris surpassed Levi Randolph in the most career games played in program history with 136 games.

Sophomore Herbert Jones set a career-high with 18 points going 6-of-10 from the field. Sophomore Alex Reese scored 17 points off the bench and collected seven rebounds, while fellow sophomore John Petty Jr. collected 11 points, five rebounds and five assists. Freshman Kira Lewis Jr. added 10 points.

The Alabama reserves chipped in 41 points, marking the first time all season the Crimson Tide eclipsed more than 40 points off the bench.
