CHOCTAW, Miss. -- Choctaw Central sent shockwaves through the Mississippi high school football world on Friday night, with a 44-20 victory over the Kemper County Wildcats to give the Warriors their first win on the gridiron since October 2nd, 2015.

CC fell short of snapping its losing streak twice this year, with close losses to Union and Newton both at home.

The win moves Choctaw Central to 1-8 on the year, 1-2 in district play. They're now tied for fourth in 3A Region 5 with the Wildcats. One more win could get the Warriors to the postseason for the first time since 2010.

Warriors return to action next week hosting Winona.
