YORK, Ala. (WTOK) - Former Livingston High School and Alabama basketball standout, Marcus Campbell, is in the 19th year of putting on his Future Star Basketball Camp over at Sumter Central High School. One hundred sixty kids between fifth through twelfth grades attended the two-day camp where they were instructed not only on basketball skills, but life lessons.
It is important to Campbell that camp-goers learn how to problem solve on and off the basketball court.
“They’re going to face a lot of things on this road, this journey of life,” Campbell said. “But the main thing here we want the kids to gather life skills to be their best, do their best, work hard in whatever career path or opportunity or whatever they’re going to pursue in life to be their very best.”
The camp features guest speakers and coaches – such as 19-year NBA veteran, Charles Oakley, who was in attendance this week.
