Newton County's Will Rushing signs with ECCC

DECATUR, Miss. (WTOK) Newton County High School's Will Rushing won't be traveling too far to continue on with his soccer career.

The senior signed to play with ECCC on Friday morning in the Newton County library.

Rushing, a defender for the Cougars, played on the boys team for six years, spending four years on varsity.

During the 2019-2020 season, Rushing had nine shutouts while adding on four goals and four assists.

He ended his high school soccer career with Newton County as an MHSAA 4A Division Champion and MHSAA State Champion Runner-up.
