LOUISVILLE, Miss. (WTOK) - WLBT first reported that current Noxubee County athletic director and football coach, Tyrone Shorter, is set to be named the head coach of the Louisville Wildcats pending school board approval Tuesday.

Shorter is replacing M.C. Miller who retired after this season – leading the Wildcats to the 2018 4A State Championship. The Title was Miller’s second at Louisville (2013) and the program’s ninth state championship overall. After Miller had announced his retirement last January, he had named current offensive coordinator, Randal Montgomery, as his replacement. Montgomery was never officially approved by the school board.

Shorter served as an assistant under Miller at Noxubee County before ascending to the head coaching position when Miller left for Louisville in 2010. Shorter led the program to an 89-28 record and four state championships. This season, the squad finished 7-6 and lost to Greenwood in the second round of the playoffs.
