TUSCALOOSA, Ala. -- For the second season in a row, Russell Christian Academy stands above all other 8-man football teams over in Alabama.

The Warriors clinched their second straight CFA State Championship with a resounding 52-14 victory over Tabernacle Christian, completing another perfect year in Alabama at 10-0.

"It's awesome. As defensive coordinator last year, we came out here and did it. We wanted to do it again this year and show it wasn't a fluke last year" said RCA head football coach Andy Braddock. "I couldn't be prouder of the heart these guys showed. I couldn't be prouder of the leadership these seniors showed out here this year. It's everything. I just can't explain the way I'm feeling right now."

Vincent Reynolds opened the scoring on the defensive side of the ball, intercepting a Tabernacle pass and taking it 43 yards the other way for a touchdown.

The Torches responded and tied the game at 6-6 going into the second quarter. Russell Christian proceeded to shutdown the Tabernacle offense the rest of the way, cruising to a 52-14 victory for a State Championship.

Caleb Taylor powered the RCA offense with 5 passing touchdowns on the night, with Taylor Wood and Jared McMullen each catching two.
