USM Baseball Set to Face Arizona State in Opener of Baton Rouge Regional

HATTIESBURG, Miss. -- The Southern Miss baseball team knew that they were in the NCAA Tournament after defeating Florida Atlantic 4-0, Sunday, in the Conference USA title contest.

Now, the Golden Eagles (38-19) are aware of who and where they will be playing.

Southern Miss will play Pac-12 Conference at-large recipient Arizona State (37-17) at 12 noon in the Baton Rouge (La.) Regional. The Golden Eagles are the No. 3 seed in the regional, while the Sun Devils are the No. 2 seed. No. 1 seed and host LSU (37-24) takes on No. 4 seed Stony Brook (31-21) at Alex Box Stadium, starting at 6 p.m.

The Golden Eagles have never faced the Sun Devils or Seawolves in baseball. LSU leads the Golden Eagles 38-11-2 in their respective series as the two teams could meet for the first time since the 2014 season.

After winning the third C-USA tournament title in the last four years, the Golden Eagles now have been to four-straight NCAA Tournaments and 16 trips overall to the postseason.

The Southern Miss Ticket Office will take ticket requests on Tuesday, May 28, beginning at 8 a.m. until 4 p.m. from Circle of Champion Members, Eagle Club Members and Season Ticket Holders. Each of these individuals will be eligible to request up to 4 tickets and all ticket orders will be fulfilled based on Eagle Club priority and ticket availability.

Please note due to the limited availability of tickets, that not all ticket requests are guaranteed to be fulfilled.
