Dual Credit Courses Continue

Meridian Community College has signed a memorandum of understanding for dual credit classes with Lauderdale County and Meridian Public Schools.

Dual credit allows high school students to simultaneously earn college credit toward a post secondary degree or certificate at MCC and credit that will also count toward a high school diploma.

MCC officials say when the program started in 2002, two classes were offered and a handful of high school students participated. Now, more than 140 students have enrolled in both career and technical and academic course offerings by MCC.
