Service Club Goes on Holiday Shopping Spree

A Meridian service organization went on a shopping spree Wednesday night for a special cause.

Members of the Debs Social Service Club gathered at the Bonita Walmart to purchase Christmas gifts for those in our area who are less fortunate. The club adopted 18 angels off of the Salvation Army's Angel Tree and then bought a gift for each angel.

"It's important because at a holiday time, the Christmas season, there are a lot of people who will be sad and we want all the children to be able to have nice gifts and have something special this Christmas season," one member said.

Club members also purchased toys for the Wesley House and Toys for Tots.
