Meridian, Miss. A wreck on the interstate Saturday evening left two people dead and four others hospitalized, according to Lauderdale County's coroner.

The crash happened on I-20 West near the 157 mile marker just before 8 p.m. Saturday.

Meridian police say a black Nissan was stopped in the middle of I-20 West near mile marker 157. A semi-truck carrying 18-wheelers hit the Nissan and turned over in the process. Police say another SUV pulled over to try to help, and a suburban crashed into the other vehicles, hitting one of the people trying to help. The driver of the Nissan was killed. Cobler says he was an Asian man with an unknown name. The girl trying to help - Britney Tomberlin - was also killed. Police say they suspect that the Nissan had hit another vehicle that left the scene, which caused the chain reaction.
